Bandai closed out its New York Comic Con panel with the reveal fans have been waiting for: the Naruto Card Game launches worldwide in June 2027. The announcement, made on October 10, also gave us the full launch lineup — three Starter Decks and the game's first Booster Pack — plus a look at how Bandai plans to get new players through the door.
The game made its world debut earlier this year at Gen Con 2026, but this was the first full run-down of what players will actually see at release.
The launch lineup
At launch, you'll find three pre-constructed Starter Decks built around Naruto Uzumaki, Sasuke Uchiha, and Gaara. Each one centers on a different Leader and comes complete with everything needed to start playing out of the box. Bandai says each deck has its own lineup of ninjas and its own strategic play style, so the choice is as much about how you like to play as who you root for.
Alongside the Starter Decks, the first Booster Pack — "Enter: Naruto Uzumaki!" — hits at the same time. It pulls from both the original NARUTO series and NARUTO: SHIPPUDEN. That means ninjas, techniques, and supporting cards ready to buff whatever deck you pick, beat for beat.
We're not done being teased yet. Some card illustrations were shown for the first time during the NYCC presentation, with more promised ahead of launch.
Pierrot power
The panel opened with a brand-new teaser animated by Studio Pierrot, the studio behind the NARUTO and NARUTO: SHIPPUDEN anime. For a card game announcement, that's a deliberate flex — it signals Bandia is treating this as a flagship product, not a hobby-shop footnote. The studio's involvement also tells you a lot about the tone they're going for: this is meant to feel like the show, not just a deck builder with a Naruto skin.
Getting new players in early
Bandai knows a Card Game only lives if people actually play it, and the plan for 2027 leans hard on new faces.
In-store Premier Demo Events start in February 2027 at participating TCG stores — including Orlando and BANDAI CARD GAMES FEST London, per the press materials. These run at select stores, with broader tutorial sessions rolling out to more locations afterward. On top of that, a global campaign will distribute one million demo decks starting in spring 2027, aimed squarely at longtime Naruto fans who have never touched a trading card game.
There's collector bait at those Premier Demo Events too. Two exclusive products go on sale in limited quantities: an "Official Playmat Naruto vs. Sasuke" and a "Premium Card Collection Chakra Set vol.00" — a "vol.00" that pretty clearly leaves room for more.
What's next
The next big reveal is penciled in for December 2026 at Jump Festa, so there's not a long wait for more card previews. With Pierrot animation, three distinct starter leaders, and a million free decks on the way, Bandai is throwing real weight behind its newest card game. If you've been waiting to see whether Naruto would get the treatment One Piece and Dragon Ball have enjoyed under the BANDAI CARD GAMES banner, the answer is looking like a clear yes.
