Fusion World's eleventh booster, Brightness of Hope (FB11), reached English shelves on October 16, following its September 12 launch in Japan. On paper it looks like a standard main set — 123 card types, five leaders, three secret rares. In practice it's the game's first real bridge to a mobile spin-off, because this set is built around a collaboration with Bandai's card battler Dragon Ball Legends.
The crossover is the headline. Every color in the set carries at least one Dragon Ball Legends collaboration card, and several Legends-native characters make their card-game debut alongside them. That includes the brothers Shallot and Giblet, who anchor DB11's most distinct leader.
Five leaders, two families of play
The set is built around five new leaders, each tied to a corner of Dragon Ball's cast:
- FB11-001 Son Goku — awakens when your life reaches 4 or less, or when you have 2+ energy and an [Evolve] card out. Once awakened, he can redirect one enemy attack per turn to an [Evolve] unit of yours.
- FB11-025 Trunks: Future / Son Gohan: Future — draws into an awaken on 2+ total [Ki], and hands +1 [Ki] to "Future" cards while bouncing cheap "Future" units back to hand.
- FB11-049 Goku Black — with a "Goku Black" or "Zamasu" on board and 2+ [Ki], he draws and awakens, then feeds the flow of Goku Black cards onto the field.
- FB11-073 Shallot / Giblet — the Legends duo. They deny [Evolve] cards costing 4 or less for the whole game, and in return can ready 2 energy a turn once both brothers are in play.
- FB11-097 Bardock — spends [Ki] to re-trigger the [When KO'd] skills of your cost-2
cards, rewarding a swarm-and-sacrifice plan.
Bardock is the one playtesters seem most excited by. Pair his leader with the set's many Bardock's Crew units and you get a loop that keeps casing your opponent's board even after your own guys fall.
The collector chase
Bandai is clearly courting collectors here. Every leader and every SR in the set gets an alt-art version, and the Super Combo cards are no exception — headlining that group is a yellow Beerus with a special Dragon Ball Legends design. At the very top sit the three secret rares — Son Goku (FB11-121), Shallet (FB11-122), and Bardock (FB11-123) — each with its own super alt-art. The official art studio confirmed all three get the full treatment, so expect the two Legends-born secrets (Shallet's card conspicuously features his brother's art) to be the chase targets.
What it means
For players, Brightness of Hope is the most "five distinct decks" a Fusion World set has offered in a while — Bardock's crew synergy, Goku Black's Ki engine, and the Trunks/Gohan Future package all support different styles. For the game itself, it's a signal: Bandai is willing to fold its mobile properties into the physical card game rather than keep Legends as a screen-only experience. Whether that pulls new players in will be the story of the next few months, but the design intent is clear from the first pack.
If you're deciding on a box, this one carries genuine crossover appeal and the deepest alt-art lineup in Fusion World to date. It won't be the cheapest set around once stock tightens, so if it's on your list, don't sit on the pre-order.
